College Graduate Dessert

At the end of the school year this year, we had a dessert  night for those Flood College students who were graduating. We were able to impart wisdom into their life about balancing a career and still continuing in ministry. A few of us shared our post college/career life and how sometimes God has different plans for you than you expected. It was a night conveying healthy, realistic expectations for the future, while still ultimately trusting God. Each student got to share their next steps in life and where they are headed. We ended the night with all of our leaders praying over the graduates a prayer of safety, holy spirit leading, glorifying, balanced lifestyle for each of the graduates.

We are praying that each student would lead the life that God has for them, continuing in a community of believers wherever they go. Thank you to all you graduates who have given so much to Flood College!

UCSD BBQ Outreach

Yesterday was perfect weather for our BBQ outreach at the University of California San Diego! We were set up out on Sungod lawn and were able to provide free hamburgers, chips and waters to 300 students!!! We invited each student to our Easter service this upcoming sunday and we're praying that they will take up our offer!

Get Dunked! Flood Baptisms!

This past Sunday Adam got to baptize 10 people at Flood Church. Half of those people were college students that attend our College Group, not to mention students we've gotten to know well and love dearly! What a pleasure to be able to celebrate with them in such a way!

Past Events and Outreaches

Since we are just now starting this blog, we have alot to catch you up on. Here is a list of events with descriptions and some pictures to show ways that God is using Flood to impact others for the His Kingdom!

TJ Orphanage Trip
Our College Group gathered around 40 college students to spend a Saturday serving the El Faro Orphanage in Tijuana. Our main goal was to help the orphanage complete their driveway so they could use the space for vehicles and such. The men of our group spent all day slaving away in the hot sun making and pouring concrete while most of the ladies cooked, played with kids, taught them a Bible verse, did crafts and sang songs. The orphans love to hang out with Floodsters (that's our nickname for people who attend Flood Church).

Flood Youth Group Retreat
Noel and Adam led the youth group on a weekend retreat in Big Bear, CA. As you can see in the pictures, the theme was "Superheros!" It was a weekend filled with the necessary balance of fun games and serious conversations.

College Retreat
This years theme for the college retreat was How the West Was Won. Adam Klekowski and Adam Wright :) were our speakers. It was at Calicinto Ranch in San Jacinto and there was plenty to retreat to. Between the horse back riding, line dancing, dirt volleyball and the best camp food ever, we had a great time discussing personal values and how they will direct our lives. On Saturday night of the retreat, we had a very personal time where students voluntarily stood up and confessed things that were holding them back from serving God and/or just things they needed to share. It was a powerful time of vulnerability and healing. After each student shared, we all proclaimed "we hear you, we see you, we love you." Talk about community.

SDSU BBQ
Last spring we put on an outreach at San Diego State University where we gave over 500 students either a BBQ hamburger or hot dog. The day was geared towards inviting students to Flood Church, to College Group and to just show God's tangible love to hungry students on campus! We had walls showing what Flood does as a church, free cotton candy and BBQ!
